On August 25, the famous Polish climber Andrzej Bargiel , will go to Kathmandu to realize his main task - the Everest Ski Challenge
oxygenAndrzej’s goal is to climb and descend from the top of Mount Everest without using supplemental
one year ago has passed since Andrzej’s impressive success in the K2 ski challange project
The date of the trip is not accidental - autumn is the time when other expeditions do not take place in Everest due to snowy weather, but these are the best conditions for skiing. The planned expedition will last about five weeks. the end of expedition will be at the end of September 2019
.In addition, Andrzej’s project also has an environmental aspect, aimed at informing the public about the problem of climate change and environmental pollution, the consequences of which did not pass by even the highest mountains of the planet - the Himalayas; and at the same time, the project intends to show the true, raw beauty of this unique region from different perspectives.
In the event that Andrzej’s project succeeds, he will become the first person in history who climbed Mount Everest and descended by ski without using supplemental Oxygen!

Celebrating its 54th birthday the other day, the French climber Katy Wagner went onsite on a rock route of category 7c + "Jalabi", which is located on the rocks of the Spanish province of San Roqu
This passage certainly becomes one of the world-class achievements in climbing
Katie herself is famous for the fact that today there are more than 730 routes of category 8a and more difficult, which is much more in number than any other climber in the world!
Note that this is not the first time that Katie has become a record holder, so in 2015, at the age of 49, she went along the route of difficulty 8b , in 2016 she improved her achievement, having already passed, at 50, the next route of difficulty 8b however, in the same year, the record for difficulty 8b was broken by 58-year-old Margarita Martinez

Matterhorn To Be Closed To Climbers
.
Switzerland's iconic Matterhorn mountain should be closed to climbers, mountain guides have told a Swiss newspaper ...The mountain has become “too unstable and therefore too dangerous to be a tourist attraction climbed by loads of people every day,".
The comment comes ten days after two climbers died on the mountain in the canton of Valais after a rock fall. So far, six people have died on the mountain this year...Last year it was eleven.
is still not clear what caused the rock fall that killed two climbers recently but geologist Keusen told that hot conditions were "very probably partly responsible... that permafrost was thawing at increasingly high altitudes."
He said that this was why rock falls and avalanches were increasingly common above 2,500 metres – especially on the exposed north faces of mountains.
But Keusen is against closing mountains to climbers. He says climbers have to take personal responsibility for risks and must inform themselves about local conditions.
.
Meanwhile Mayoraz, head of the natural hazards department in the canton of Valais called the idea of closing the Matterhorn “laughable”.
He said climbing was a “private activity” and that authorities should instead ensure climbers are aware of the risks.
.
Zermatt commune president Romy Biner said a closure of the mountain was not being considered.
She noted there were 38 4,000-metre peaks in the commune and that the issue of thawing permafrost was not only applicable to the Matterhorn.
"We can't take responsibility for everything," the commune president said
