Grandchildrens on the way to continue their grandfather's legacy

Two grandsons of the legendary Everest pioneer Edmund Hillary summited the 6812-meter-high Ama Dablam

Grandsons of Sir Edmund Hillary, George (left) and Alexander (right) with Tendi Sherpa (middle)  scaled the summit of Ama Dablam (6812 m) yesterday.

We should note that They had already climbed Kilimanjaro (Africa, 5896m), Puncak Jaya (Papua, Indonesia, 4884m), Elbrus (Russia, 5642m), and Alex had climbed Mt Blanc (France, 4807m). With  their younger sister Lily, they plan to climb Everest in 2020

26-year-old German climber Jost Kobusch continues to actively prepare for his main and ambitious goal: to climb Mount Everest in winter, alone and without additional oxygen.

After the recent first ascent to the Nepalese peak Amotsang (6939 meters), the next stage of preparation is the traverse of the four six-thousanders of Nepal, which are part of the Chulu mountain range, located in the central part of Nepal, in the region of the eight-thousander Annaprun

BARBARA ZANGERL BECAME THE THIRD WOMAN IN THE WORLD WHO WAS ABLE TO GO THROUGH THE LEGENDARY ROUTE“THENOSE” 

WITH FREE CLIMBING 

Austrian rock climber Barbara Zangerl and Italian Jacopo Larcher reported that they managed to go the legendary 900-meter route “The Nose” on the most famous rock in the US El Capitan free climbing

Just a few days after Sébastien Berthe ’s climb , Barbara and Jacopo also wrote their names in the climbing history of the BigWall route

Barbara and Jacopo made their first attempt to pass the Nose with free climbing in the fall of 2018, but then they failed, because the rock was wet

It is noteworthy that a couple of Barbara and Jacopo can be considered one of the most experienced in the Yosemite Valley, because earlier they both managed to go through such routes as: El Niño (VI 5.13c A0) in 2015, Zodiac (VI 5.13d) in 2016 and "Magic Mushroom" of difficulty 8b + in 2017
And "PreMuir" (8b) this year.
let's say that Barbara Zangerl became only the third woman in the world who was able to go the “The Nose” route free climbing: after Lynn Hill in 1993 and Beth Rodden in 2005.
Given the general history of free Nose climbing: Barbara and Jacopo became the eighth and ninth climbers in the history of this route, respectively

“Carry Me Back!”

This fall, the SPCC guys (Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee) launched a  project called “Carry Me Back,” which would improve the situation with garbage in the Khumbu Valley ...

In October, an industrial shredder for plastic and aluminum cans was brought into the Namche Bazar area. The garbage suitable for grinding is demolished there, after which it is packed in small bags weighing 0.5 - 1 kg. A distribution point for these bags was installed near the main stupa of Namche, and all trackers who have already completed their journey can take a little garbage and bring it to Lukla. At the airport, a special place was arranged where everyone dumps their burden.
At the end of the season,  Airplane will transport all the garbage from Lukla to Kathmandu.
